The Soliloquy of We

Spirituality:

Visitors to the TED website or their Youtube channel some years ago may remember this presentation by Jill Bolte Taylor. The ostensible title of the presentation is "My Stroke of Insight", but what many of the people who (have) watched it probably have never noticed is that its true title is "Who are we?" If you watch the presentation closely you see that caption appear a few times in the presentation.

You, Igraine

Who, or what, is the Morgause to your Igraine? (a rather long lived Igraine I should add)

Who is the Morgause whose desire, manifests as the karma that is your life? When is that karma, and where is that karma?

Who, or what, is the Morgause to Morgause's own Igraine?

Mooji on a Spliff

Mooji on a spliff.

Here is one guru who looks like he wasn't averse to enjoying few spliffs in his pre enlightenment days, i.e if he did.

Enlightenment brings its own high. Yes. True.
Relax guys, you won't miss out.

I, Igraine

Who Is Igraine?

The initial observer that was Igraine had died years ago, so who came alive as being her, but was not her?

Whose sense of I, present and past, became her? The original had died years ago, but someone became the I of her deceased person, someone whose sense of ego pertinence, feelings, memories, thoughts, concerns, was her, yet was not her?

The Field and the Knower of the Field

Two Birds On A Tree

This is one statement Jill Bolte Taylor made at the TED conference that struck a note with me.

Jill Bolte Taylor - My Favourite Guru (press-ganged, of course)

I guess I can't say much about this lady, a number of you may already know about her, except that I have press-ganged her into service as my number one guru.

Whenever I listen to her I found myself along trains of thought I haven't considered before, considering her choice of words and wondering why she chose those words in particular, those phrases.

I also find myself returning to verses in Hindu and Buddhist scriptures, which although I did not gloss over, whose significance I don't quite understand until I hear her repeat them in a different way.
